Freedom Behavioral Hospital is a 24-bed Geri-Psych Hospital and patient care is #1. If you are interested in making compassionate, caring person and interested in making difference, we are taking applications for day (7:00AM to 7:00PM) and evening (7:00PM to 7:00AM) shifts. 

The Mental Health Technician (MHT) role is to function as a member of the nursing staff to facilitate quality patient care. The MHT supports the licensed nursing staff to ensure the needs of the patients are met by performing routinely assigned tasks and carrying out patient care activities within the scope of the MHT’s training and experience. Provides direct patient care to assigned patients ensuring that the patients activities of daily living are met. They are primarily responsible for the day to day custodial care of the patients. The MHT assist with providing a therapeutic milieu and group assignments as directed. The MHT utilizes a basic knowledge of psychiatric nursing skills and communicate the emotional, behavior, and psychiatric manifestation of the patient’s psychiatric condition to the licensed nursing staff. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assistance in the overall day-to-day functioning of the program including aiding other staff in patient chart production, meal provision, answering telephones and supervision of patients.   

All candidates must have a high school diploma.
